2018 Nissan Maxima

The Nissan Maxima has inspired passion and loyalty from driving enthusiasts since its introduction a generation ago. The 2018 Nissan Maxima carries on the tradition with style, luxury, and performance befitting Nissan's flagship sedan. Here at West End Nissan in Edmonton, we're proud to sell the luxurious and sporty Nissan Edmonton drivers have been dreaming about. A multiple-award winner, this is the Nissan Maxima Edmonton drivers will love both for commuting and for road trips to their favourite destinations.

A Standout Sedan

The Maxima has always combined luxury, technology, style, and high-performance driving excitement in a useful sedan body. The 2018 edition is no exception. Nissan knows that Maxima drivers are looking for something a cut above the competition, so it includes standard features like Intelligent Emergency Braking on all trim levels. It's part of what Nissan calls Intelligent Mobility, which includes features like front and rear sonar and the Intelligent Around View Monitor which provides a 360-degree overhead view of the car. These features make the Maxima as easy to park in the city as it is fun to drive on the open road.

A Design Leader

Nissan believes a luxury sports sedan's style should be as distinctive as the driving experience. The 2018 Maxima's sculpted sheet metal flows from futuristic, LED, boomerang-shaped headlights back over its muscular rear quarter panels to create the look of a four-door sports car. The Maxima wears custom tires on aggressively styled, machine-finished aluminum alloy wheels that were designed just for the Maxima. The LED wraparound taillights are embossed with the abbreviation "4DSC," a reminder that this is indeed a four-door sports car, and it has the looks to match.

Performance

Of course, sports car looks call for sports car performance, and here the 2018 Nissan Maxima shines. The Maxima's heartbeat comes from its 300 hp V6 that features several technologies unique to the Maxima. For instance, sodium-filled exhaust valves enable a higher compression ratio. Anodized pistons can stand up to the demands of the high-revving, high-performance driving enabled by the Maxima's high-flow tuned induction system.

Handling is essential to sports car performance, and the Maxima's dynamic handling will have you believing you're behind the wheel of a low-slung sports coupe instead of a sedan. It features monotube dampers in the rear suspension, a technology usually found in track-ready, high-end sports cars. Step up to the SR trim level and handling gets even better with a stiffer front stabilizer bar and Nissan's integrated dynamics-control module.

As the driver, you'll have complete control over the Maxima's performance settings for every scenario from city commuting to a fun weekend blast along a twisty road. The Maxima's Drive Mode Selector gives you a choice of the Normal mode for refined and fuel-efficient motoring and the Sport mode for when you want to feel like you're kicking in the afterburners. The Maxima's Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) likewise includes an adaptive shift controller that can provide both enthusiastic and economical driving modes.

An Award-Winner

Of course we love the Maxima here at West End Nissan--after all, we get to drive it, and to drive it is to fall in love with it. But don't just take our word for it. Ask the folks at The Car Guide, Canada's premier automotive website. They voted the Maxima Best Full Sized Sedan for 2018. Or ask the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety, who named the 2018 Maxima a Top Safety Pick.

Safety Features

We've mentioned the Maxima's Intelligent Emergency Braking system. It monitors the distance between your Maxima and the car ahead of you, alerting you if you need to slow down. In the event of an imminent collision, it can even brake automatically to try to avoid or mitigate a crash. Combine this with the Intelligent Forward Collision Warning system that watches the road two cars ahead for any sudden deceleration, and you have two layers of safety to help avoid forward collisions.

For side and rear protection, the Maxima offers available Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert features. Combined with the front and rear sonar and the birds-eye view of the Intelligent Around View Monitor we mentioned earlier, you'll have safety assistance in almost every driving situation. The Maxima comes standard with advanced airbags for front and rear seat occupants, high-strength side impact door beams, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Traction Control, and a full suite of other standard safety features. Plus, if your airbags deploy in a crash, the NissanConnect system will notify an Emergency Call Centre automatically.

NissanConnect

NissanConnect Services help to connect your car to your everyday life. You control it with your voice or the touchscreen, and it works with your smartphone to make your life easier. For instance, it offers remote engine start and remote door locking and unlocking. It can send text alerts if, for instance, your teenage driver exceeds a pre-set speed. It offers stolen vehicle location and valet monitoring. You can use Bing or Google to find an address and send it to your Maxima's navigation. The system will even send you service reminders via text or email.

Warranty

For peace of mind, the 2018 Maxima is covered by Nissan's Comprehensive New Vehicle Warranty for a 3-year/60,000 km term. The powertrain warranty runs for 5 years and 100,000 km. An emissions control warranty covers selected components for 8 years and 130,000 km, and the Corrosion Perforation Warranty covers your Maxima for 8 years and unlimited kilometres.
